Midwife to the Sacred, Strange, and Deeply Human

Writer  |  Death Doula  |  Grief Guide  |  Educator

Welcome

I’m Heather Honold — a death doula, grief guide, spiritual coach, and writer based in Phoenix, Arizona.

My work explores what it means to be human in the face of impermanence — how we love, how we lose, and how we make meaning in between.

I’ve spent years sitting beside the dying, listening to the grieving, and helping people face what most of the world avoids.

Through Rose of Sharon Wellness, I offer grounded care and soulful support for those navigating death, grief, and conscious living. Through Bone & Bloom, I write about the sacred, strange, and deeply human work of becoming alive to it all.

Both are born from the same truth: that presence,  honest, imperfect, and tender, is the most powerful medicine we have.

The Heart of My Work

My work is about what happens when we stop turning away —
from death, from grief, from the truth that everything we love will one day change.

It is also about what comes after that turning; the quiet remembering that we are still here, still capable of wonder, still allowed to build a life that feels like ours.

Facing mortality has taught me that presence isn’t just for the deathbed. It belongs at the kitchen table, in our morning routines, in the way we speak to the people we love. It belongs to the living.

Through Bone & Bloom, I write about that full spectrum. The ache and the awe, the sacred and the strange. Essays, rituals, and reflections that explore how we stay awake to life while knowing it’s temporary.

Through Rose of Sharon Wellness, I walk beside people through every threshold: dying, grieving, becoming, returning. My work as a death doula, grief guide, and spiritual coach is about learning to meet each chapter — birth, loss, joy, confusion, rebirth — with curiosity and compassion.

Whether you come here to prepare for death, to make peace with your past, or to reimagine how you want to live, this space is for you.

It’s an invitation to presence; to the sacred, strange, and deeply human experience of being fully alive.

Two Paths, One Purpose

Everything I create lives in conversation with itself: the words, the rituals, the teaching, the care.

Whether you arrive seeking reflection or guidance, grief support or spiritual grounding, both paths lead to the same place: a life lived with intention, reverence, and truth.

Bone & Bloom

My writing home.

A space for essays, letters, and reflections on the sacred, strange, and deeply human. Here, I write about the ache and the awe of being alive,  how we make meaning from loss, how we come back to ourselves, and how we keep choosing to stay open in a world that keeps breaking our hearts.

It’s part story, part sanctuary, and part mirror for the truths we all carry.

    The Work Reflected Back

Heather has this extraordinary ability to make the heaviest conversations feel gentle, even sacred. I came to her overwhelmed with fear. I left with peace and a plan. I will never forget how she held space for my truth without trying to fix or change it.

I bought The Vital Vault for my mom, but I ended up using it to have the first real conversation we’ve ever had about dying. It brought us closer. I can’t thank you enough for creating something so meaningful.

I came to Heather feeling scattered, anxious, and unsure of where to start. Her questions, reflections, and rituals gave me structure without pressure. I feel more grounded, more honest, and more me.

What I thought would be strictly medical planning turned into something beautiful. Heather helped us create space for ceremony, meaning, and real conversations. She changed the way I think about dying.
